Vapor proof safety lamp manufactured by the Appleton Electric company. Was designed to be mounted to the wall or ceiling. Has been mounted to an electrical conduit box and wired with an inline switch so it can be used as an accent lamp. Appleton Electric was founded in 1903. Lamps such as this are still in use in factories and have not changed markedly over the years.
